SJ LAW QUOTE: "Mistakes are part of being human. Appreciate your mistakes for what they are: precious life lessons that can only be learned the hard way. Unless it's a fatal mistake, which at least, others can then learn from." ~ Al Franken (Oh, The things I Know 2002)
SJ LAW INSIGHT: One could say every law is based upon a mistake. Court calendars are filled by parties that made mistakes. Mistakes will happen. It's usually what you TAKE away from your mistake that matters as much as whether you own up to your mistakes and how. Being accountable and taking responsibility is admirable but may not always be great business and can hurt your bottom line. Which is probably why companies know they are sending out tainted goods but sign off on them anyway. Which is why employees play the fun game of covering their asses. Which is why politicians finger point every where else except home base. We know from spiritual laws that coming clean is always the pathway and if you don't clean up your mess NOW and face your underlying (ego, shadow, fear) issue, energetically you are not fooling anyone and permit that mistake to repeat. Sure, there are ways to mitigate mistakes, like hiring a clean up crew aka publicist to help you "spin" your screw up into a mighty learning experience. But learning from mistakes, course correcting as you go and staying with your truth is the best damage control and ultimately where you'll find forgiveness.
